Mexican Strawberry Water

The essence of sweet summer berries, this drink is so appealing you’ll be tempted to dive right in!

Ingredients
Serves 8 cups
4 cups ripe strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 cup sugar
8 cups water
~   ice cubes
~   lime slices or mint leaves for decoration

Directions 
 

1. Place the strawberries, sugar, and one cup of water in a bowl. Mash the strawberries slightly and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to macerate for 4 hours.

2. Remove the strawberry mixture from the refrigerator and liquefy in the blender.

3. Pour the liquid through a wire mesh strainer set over a spacious mixing bowl; discard the pulp and seeds.

4. Add the remaining water to the bowl and mix well.

5. Place the Agua de Fresa in the refrigerator to chill for several hours. Or, pour over ice and serve immediately, garnished with lime slices or mint leaves.

 

 

Preparation time: 25 minutes plus 4+ hours downtime.
