Mexican Pineapple Water
Recipe
Try this as a refreshing alternative to lemonade on a hot summer day.

Ingredients
Serves 8 cups
1   ripe fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cubed
1 cup sugar
6 cups water
~   ice cubes
~   lime slices or mint leaves for decoration
     
 
 
Directions 
 

1. Place the pineapple cubes, sugar, and one cup of water in the blender and liquefy.

2. Pour the liquid through a wire mesh strainer set over a spacious mixing bowl; discard the pulp and seeds.

3. Add the remaining water to the bowl and mix well.

4. Pour the Agua de Pina into a pitcher and chill the in the refrigerator for several hours. Or, pour over ice and serve immediately, garnished with lime slices or mint leaves.

 

 

Preparation time: 15 minutes plus several hours downtime.
