Schloss Cheese

This unusual dish combines pungent Austrian Schloss cheese with classic Italian elements like garlic, olive oil and tomato. Toss on any toppings you like and see where the flavors take you!

Ingredients
Serves 1 10-inch pizza
1 10-inch pizza crust*
1 tablespoon olive oil
1   Roma tomato, thinly sliced
3 ounces Rouge et Noir Schloss cheese, crumbled
1 teaspoon fresh Rosemary, leaves reserved and stems discarded.
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 clove garlic, chopped
*Use your favorite pizza dough, or a pre-formed par baked crust available in good grocery stores.  Many pizza parlors will sell you dough for home use.
 
 
Directions 
 

Preheat oven to 425-degrees.

  1. Form the pizza dough into a thin 10-inch round and set aside.
  2. Rub the olive oil over the surface of the prepared dough.
  3. Arrange the tomato slices evenly over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the tomatoes.
  5. Sprinkle the rosemary, red pepper and garlic over the cheese.
  6. Bake for 15–30 minutes on the lowest rack of the oven, until the crust turns golden brown.
  7. Cool briefly before serving.

 

 

Preparation time: 25–40 minutes preparation and baking—Plus cooling time.
